PATHYA ANVESHANA 2026

In Commemoration with 111th Jayanthi Celebration of His Holiness Rajagurutilaka Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji & on the occasion of National Nutrition Week 2026, Department of PG & PhD studies in Swasthavritta & Yoga conducted PATHYA ANVESHANA 2026 – “National Workshop on Integrative Dietary Approach in the Management of Cancer related Morbidity” from 2nd to 4th September 2026. This programme was planned to promote academic awareness and practical understanding of dietary approach in Cancer care.
The programme comprised academic, practical and competitive activities which included:
- National Level Online Cooking Video Competition.
- Offline Cooking Competition.
- National workshop on Integrative Dietary approach in the management of Cancer related morbidity.
Day one – 2nd September 2026
National level online video competition was conducted on 2nd September 2026 for UG, PG & PhD Scholars on the topic "Integrative diet therapy for prevention & management of cancer related morbidity". In this competition 30 videos featuring different therapeutic pathya recipes related to cancer management was received and best videos were awarded.
Day two – 3rd September 2026
Offline cooking competition was conducted on 3rd September 2026 for UG & PG scholars on the topic "Ayurvedic palliative diet for cancer". In this competition total 36 teams (each comprising 2 members) were registered. Many innovative recipes were prepared by the participants. The winners were chosen separately in this competition and were awarded with cash prize.
Day three – 4th September 2026
National workshop on Integrative Dietary Approach in the Management of Cancer related Morbidity was conducted on 4th September 2026 in our Institution. The workshop commenced with a formal inauguration in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Narayanam Srikanth, Deputy Director General, CCRAS, New Delhi, Dr. Sanjeev Tonny, Prof. Dept of PG and PhD studies in Swasthavritta and Yoga, KLE’s BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya & Hospital, Belagavi, Dr. M.B Kavita, Prof & Head, Dept of PG & PhD Studies in Swasthavritta & Yoga, SDM College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Hassan, Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal, Dr. Sudhakar Reddy, Organising Secretary.
Dr. P. Sudhakar Reddy, Prof & Head, Dept of PG & Ph.D studies in Swasthavritta & Yoga and the Organising Secretary of this National Conference welcomed all the guests and the gathering and also gave an overview of the workshop.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the commencement of the workshop by the dignitaries.
The Chief Guest Dr. Narayanam Srikanth, Deputy director general, CCRAS, New Delhi delivered key note address & highlighted the role of proper diet in the Management of Cancer.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal & Medical Superintendent, who in his speech enlightened our delegates about importance of food in Prevention & Management of Cancer.
The 1st Scientific session was delivered by Dr. Abhilash. HG. Oncologist, Bharath Hospital & Institute of Oncology, Mysuru. Sir spoke on understanding the role of Nutrition in cancer care and also presented Evidence based dietary protocols during treatment of cancer.
The 2nd Scientific session was rendered by Miss. Prithvi Priya, Oncology Dietician & Clinical Nutritionist, HCG Hospital, Bengaluru who explained about prescription of Nutrition in cancer care, planning one day meal.
The 3rd Scientific session was delivered by Dr. Beena. M.D, Prof & In-charge of Specialty Cancer Care Clinic of our JSS Ayurveda Hospital. Madam spoke about Success stories in Integrative Management of Cancer.
In Afternoon session, workshop commenced with live demonstration of Pathya Kalpana, conducted by luminaries Dr. M.B Kavita and Dr. Sanjeev Tonny who demonstrated preparation of therapeutic recipes like Mudgamalaka yusha, Panchamustika yusha, Saptha mustika yusha yusha, Revitalizing khichdi, Lajadi yusta, Kushmanda modaka, Hemakirana panaka, Chandraprabha Ksheerika.
Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal, also joined hands in this demo and showcased preparation of Hingu Ardraka odana, Nutritious salad, Ardraka siddha takra.
In the evening, Valedictory function of Pathya Anveshana-2026 in the presence of Sri. R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division of JSS Mahavidyapeetha as Chief Guest. National Workshop began with invocation from Miss. Aahlada & team.
Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Shalini. S. Associate Professor. Dept of PG & PhD Studies in Swasthavritta & Yoga.
Sri. R Mahesh in his speech highlighted on the importance of dietetic preparations and role of diet in the management of Cancer Care. He also distributed certificates to the prize winners of the online & online cooking competition and also to the delegates of the workshop.
The program ended with Vote of Thanks by Dr. Anusha. S, Assistant Professor, Dept of Pg & PhD studies in Swasthavritta & Yoga.
More than 75 delegates from Institutions across the Nation and also the post graduates from the Dept of Swasthavritta & Yoga of our Institution got benefitted from this program.
