FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM on 19th & 20th DECEMBER 2025

Inauguration: Was done by the Principal and Guest speakers by lighting lamp in the presence of delegates. The guest speakers and the delegates were addressed by the Principal and he conveyed best wishes to all.

MORNING SESSION:

Session on Applications of Nano technology in Herbal medicine

1. Talk by Dr. SHANKARAMMA K, Asst Professor, Division of Nano science and Technology, JSSAHER, Mysuru

Mam explained regarding the basic concepts of nano technology, various methods of preparation of nano particles, their advantages and disadvantages and their implementation in Ayurveda.

2. Talk by Dr. POOJA J RAO, Junior scientist, PPS&FT, CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru

Mam explained regarding the various methods and processes involved in nano technology along with the work carried out under her guidance where the palatability of the ayurvedic formulation guggulutiktaka ghrita was enhanced by its nanoencapsulation and further incorporation into a protein bar.

AFTERNOON SESSION:

Session on funding agencies by Dr. SHRIHARI S, Professor and Head, Department of PG studies in Kaumarabhritya, JSS Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru.

Sir gave valuable information regarding the various funding agencies involved in funding research projects in the field of ayurveda and various steps and criteria required to obtain funding from the central funding agencies.

Session on Scientific writing, project proposal submission and entrepreneurship development and innovation

1. Session on Scientific writing, project proposal submission by Dr. HEMANTH N, Professor in Audiology, JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru.

Sir discussed on the various steps and rules involved in structuring a quality research article. Also, sir discussed about the various funding agencies that are involved in funding research projects in the field of ayurveda.

2. Session on Entrepreneurship development and innovation by Shri SHIVASHANKAR, Chief executive, Startup incubation, innovation, investment and education, SJCE-STEP, Mysuru.

Sir discussed about the activities of SJCE-STEP and its various programmes which are involved in helping the entrepreneurs and new startups. Sir also explained regarding how the non-ayurveda fraternity and companies are benefitting more rather than the original ayurveda fraternity in the name of ayurveda and presented various ideas to overcome it.

PANEL DISCUSSION:

Panel discussion was held post lunch where the queries of academicians and PG scholars were addressed by the guest speakers.

VALEDICTORY:

Valedictory was held, which was presided by the Principal and was followed by high tea.
