Report on World Population Day - 2022
On the eve of "World Population Day - 2022", Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta, JSSAMC, Mysuru has organized Debate competition and Poster presentation competition on 11th July for the UG students and PG scholars.
There were 28 participants out of which 5 were awarded with prizes.
List of winners:
1st prize - Dr. Samyam, First year PG scholar, Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta 2nd prize - Priyanka M, Second year BAMS student and Puran, Second year BAMS student 3rd prize - Viraj, Second year BAMS student and Vinay, Third year BAMS student
Topic for poster presentation was "Population overgrowing and steps to curb the issues' . There were 15 groups participated out of which 5 groups were awarded with prizes. List of winners: 1st prize - Moulvika and Meghana, Third year BAMS students 2nd prize - Vinay and Tushar, Third year BAMS students 3rd prize - Namitha Mariya Jiji and Sneha & Varshita, Third year BAMS students Consolation prize - Maithri and Ananya, Second year BAMS students Students were very enthusiastic and participated actively in both the competitions.
Report on Guest lecture On the same occasion of "World Population Day - 2022", Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta, JSSAMC, Mysuru has organized a guest lecture on 11th June at 3:30 pm for the third year UG students, PG scholars and teaching faculty of the department.
Dr. Kavya Upadhya, Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine, JSS Medical College, Mysuru was the guest speaker. Dr. Kavya Upadhya spoke on the theme of World Population Day - 2022, ""A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all – Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all." Speaker explained in detail about the effects of population explosion on the society and measures needed to be adopted to prevent overpopulation was also addressed.
