KRIYA KAUSHALAM 2022 - WORKSHOP ON NETRA KRIYAKALPA A BRIEF REPORT

JSS Ayurveda College, Mysuru

The Department of Postgraduate Studies in Shalakya Tantra, JSS Ayurveda Medical College has organised a one day workshop on Netra Kriyakalpa for Interns and Postgradutes on 27/08/2022 at the premises.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. S K Prabhakar, Professor and HOD , Department of Ophthalmology, JSS Medical College and Hospital, Mysore . During his inaugural speech he called upon the junior doctors and postgraduates to focus on the research areas by which they should help the mankind. The Susruta’s ancient contributions are still relevant in the present era and needs to be validated with present scientific protocols.

Another guest Dr. Mohankumari K M, HOD Department of Shalakya Tantra, GAMC Mysore has spoken about the significance and adaptability of traditional ophthalmic treatments in treating difficult disease conditions of the eyes.

Dr.Sarbeswar Kar , Principal JSSAMC who has given the introductory note on Kriya Kaushalam 2022, reiterated the adaptability and validation of Netra Kriyakalpa with more scientific base. He also spoke about different conditions of the eyes and their management with ancient Kriyakalpa.

Dr.Rajesh A Udapudi , Dean Academics, JSSAMC Mysore, during his presidential address called the younger generation to follow the healthy lifestyle to prevent the lifestyle disorders.

Dr.Gavimath Shivanand, Professor and HOD, Department of PG Studies in Shalakya Tantra welcomed the gathering , guests and delegates.

Dr.Greeshma Menon, Assistant Professor, Department of PG Studies in Shalakya Tantra, has introduced the guests.

Dr.Chaya C, Assistant Professor, Department of PG Studies in Shalakya Tantra, rendered the vote of thanks.

Dr. Sandhyarani D, Associate Professor, Department of PG Studies in Shalakya Tantra, anchored the programme neatly.

Nearly 100 delegates participated from different colleges across Karnataka. During the workshop, the classical Ayurvedic ophthalmic treatment modalities have been demonstrated effectively to the delegates and faculties. Few delegates also underwent the hands on training. Certificates were distributed in the concluding session.
