NATIONAL SEMINAR ON YOGA AND AYURVEDA ON 14-05-2024

Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta of our institution had organized a National Seminar on Yoga and Ayurveda on 14-05-2024 on the occasion of 10th International Day of Yoga – 2024, in association with Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi, SKRSPM Sri Veda Vyasa Yoga Pratisthana, Mysuru. Vaidya Kashinath Samagandi, Director, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi was the Chief Guest.

Dr. P. Sudhakar Reddy, Prof and HOD, Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta welcomed the guests to the gathering. The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the guests. Dr. Sowmya. M.N, Reader, Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta introduced Vaidya Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi; who delivered the inaugural speech, wherein he spoke on the highlights of the institute, significance of International Day of Yoga and also about Yoga Certification Board, its aim and objectives.

The first scientific session was delivered by Vaidya Dr. Arpan A Bhatt, Chairman, Assessment Committee, Yoga Certification Board, New Delhi on the topic - The Yoga blueprint: Mapping your Swasthavritta journey.

The second session was by Dr. Ulka Natu Gadam; Embryologist and Yoga Expert, University of Mumbai, on the topic – Ancient Wisdom, Modern Application: Yoga and Garbha Samskara.

The third scientific session was by Dr. K. Raghavendra Pai, Secretary, Sri Vedavyasa Yoga Pratisthana, Mysuru on the topic – The Impact of Yoga on Student Concentration and Academic performance.

Prizes for the elocution competition conduced for II BAMS Students on the occasion of IDY-2024 by the Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta on 14-05-2024 at 12pm were distributed by Vaidya Dr. Kashinath Samagandi to the prize winners. Miss. Sampada. D. Hegde, bagged first prize, Miss. Gnaneshwari bagged Second prize and Miss. Abhijna K Murthy bagged third prize. A total of 10 students had participated in the competition.

Presidential address was delivered by Dr. Sarbeswar kar, Principal, JSSAMC, Mysuru.

Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. P. Sudhakar Reddy, Prof and HOD, Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta, JSSAMC, Mysuru.
