In Commemoration with 108th Jayanthi Celebration of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta organized The Health Awareness Talk Programme, held on 27/09/2023, at Police Bhavan.
The event was officially inaugurated by our Police Sub inspector Mr Murthy who warmly welcomed the attendees.
The inception of the Programme:
The event commenced with a brief history of yoga, highlighting its origins in ancient India and its evolution into a global phenomenon by Dr Sarbeshwar Kar, principal of Jss Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mysore.
Dr Sudhakar Reddy Professor in the Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta stressed the importance of yoga in today's fast-paced world and emphasized its potential to improve physical and mental well-being.
Health Benefits Presentation:
Following the keynote address, the Yoga Awareness Talk Programme was delivered by Dr Sushmitha C T Assistant Professor, in the Department of PG Studies in Swasthavritta. She shared comprehensive knowledge about yoga, its health benefits, and balanced living. Topics included yoga postures, breathing exercises, stress relief, immunity enhancement, and mental health benefits. Scientific evidence for yoga's positive effects on cardiovascular health, flexibility, and stress reduction was highlighted. Practical demonstrations of mindful eating and yoga practices were showcased, offering immediate benefits to participants. Additionally, the adverse effects of excessive social media use were discussed.
Vote of Thanks:
The Yoga Awareness Talk Programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr Arun, Police head constable, he expressed gratitude to all the attendees, the guest speaker, and the organizing committee for their efforts in making the event a success. He also encouraged the audience to continue exploring the world of yoga and to practice it regularly for their physical and mental well-being.
