Report on Shalakya Tantra Guest Lecture on ‘Hearing Mechanism and Hearing Aids’ on 31-07-2023

Department of PG Studies in Shalakya Tantra, JSSAMC Conducted a Guest Lecture on the Topic -Hearing Mechanism and Hearing Aids - on 05/07/2023 for 1 & 1V year BAMS students, PG Scholars and Faculties of Department of Shalakya Tantra. The Guest Speaker for the Session was Dr.Hemanth . N, Professor ,Dept of Audiology, JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru.

The session started at 11.15 AM by seeking Divine blessings through invocation by 1V Year BAMS Students- Ashmita and Sumedha.

Welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Gavimath Shivanand, Professor and HOD, Dept of PG Studies in Shalakya Tantra ,JSSAMC , Mysuru.

Dr.Sarbeswar Kar, Principal, JSSAMC , Mysuru addressed the gathering.

Dr.Chaya C , Assistant Professor,Dept of Shalakya Tantra, introduced the guest.

The Speaker Dr.Hemanth N explained neatly and precisely about the Mechanism of Hearing. He discussed in detail about the Hearing Aids, its indications & contraindications, Types of Hearing Aids, its working mechanism and other accessories used for hearing enhancement . It was an informative and interactive session.

Dr. Greeshma Menon , Assistant Professor, Dept of Shalakya Tantra rendered the vote of thanks.

Dr.Rashmi B R, PG Scholar, Dept of PG Studies in Shalakya Tantra, mastered the ceremony.

There were totally 120 beneficiaries including the students and staff.
