JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Myuru, has organised “Graduation Day” ceremony -2022 on Friday, 4th November 2022 in its premises with the Divine blessings of  His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

Dr. B.S. Prasad, President, Board of Ayurveda, National Commission of Indian System of Medicine, Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi who was the Chief Guest for the ceremony, opined that the lifestyle of todays generation has drastically changed compared to the previous generations with the advancement of Science and Technology. At the same time, we are experiencing new challenges of upcoming new diseases, hence to prevent the non-communicable diseases, there is an urgent need to  adopt scientific based ancient healthy way of life. In this regard, the role of traditional Ayurveda treatments of Panchakarma and Para Surgical procedures play an important role in maintaining the healthy life.

He also highlighted regarding the Government of India’s health tourism programme and AYUSH Visas to enable the global community to visit India for Ayurveda therapies. Hence, the Government of India and Ministry of AYUSH has declared a statement “Heal in India, Heal by India’’, in which there will be an exchange of innovative procedures of traditional health systems of India.

Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, presided over the programme. During his presidential speech he emphasised on “the evidence based Ayurveda Medicine’’ which is the need of the hour in addressing many of the present degenerative conditions. Thus the Ayurveda graduates should inculcate the mind of rational thinking and innovative ideologies, hence accepting and adopting them into the clinical practice.

Sri R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, who participated as Guest of Honour, spoke about the significance, scope and Research oriented clinical practice in Ayurveda.

The Graduation ceremony began with the invocation by Kum.Sweekruthi, Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal & Medical Superintendent, JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, rendered the welcome speech. He welcomed all the dignitaries and the president of NCISM and submitted the Academic report.

Dr. Rajesh A.Udapudi, Dean, read the Oath taking to the outgoing graduates. Dr.Deepa.C.Patil, Professor, declared the Rank holders list of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and also announced the Himalaya Drug Company’s Jeevaka and Ayurvisharada cash prize winners. Dr.Amaresh and Dr. Samhitha. Hegde bagged the cash prizes. For 55 Rank holders, the certificate and appreciation letters were distributed by the dignitaries on the stage.

Dr.Sandhya Rani.D., Co-ordinator for Interns read the names of 100 graduates and they were awarded with the graduation certificates from the dignitaries. The best outgoing graduate 2022 and the best outgoing internee 2022 were awarded to Dr.Samhitha Hegde and Dr.Meghana Patil respectively. Later few outgoing doctors shared their experience of Medical Education at JSS.

Dr.Veena G Rao, Professor, rendered the vote the thanks. The Graduation ceremony concluded with the National Anthem. Dr.Madhusudhan.B.G., Associate Professor anchored the event neatly.
