AGADA VIMARSHA – 2024 - SEMINAR ON THE CONCEPT OF DRUG INDUCED TOXICITIES AND FOOD POISONING
Department of Agadatantra Evum Vidhi Vaidyaka of our institute had organised one day Seminar - Agada Vimarsha on 24th April 2024 on the Concept of Drug induced toxicities and food poisoning with four sessions.
Dr. Mohan Kumar G was the Chief guest of the Inaugural program along with Principal Dr. Sarbeshwar Kar as President, Dean Dr. Rajesh A Udapudi and Dr. Pallavi Y C Professor and HOD Department of Agadatantra.
1st Session – Was on the topic of Drug induced toxicities by Dr. Mohan Kumar G, Consultant Physician and Intensivist, Vidyaranya Hospital Mysuru. Sir explained what about drug induced toxicities, their mechanism, drug over dose, on target and off target effects, immune responses which can lead to toxicities with examples.
2nd session – Was on the topic - Application of Principles of Agadatantra in the management of drug induced hepato, nephro and neuro toxicities by our speaker Dr. Ravi Dhaliya Associate Professor, Department of Agadatantra, Babe Ke Ayurveda Medical College, Punjab. Sir delivered his thoughts on the management of drug induced toxicities by the principles of Agadatantra i,e Visha Cikitsa on the basis of Dooshiviha and Garavisha concepts.
3rd session – On the topic - Clinical Application of Principles of Agadatantra in the management of Food Poisoning by Dr. Swathi Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Agadatantra, Sushrutha Ayurveda Medical College, Bengaluru. Madam spoke about the concept of food poisoning as per Ayurveda ahara visha, their lakshana with modern correlations. General line of treatment and importance of visha cikitsa in food poisoning with relevance to the Dooshivisha and Gara visha concepts were explained along with the usage of agada.
4th session – On the topic Food Poisoning, Its types and Management. Speaker Dr. Prasad M C, Assistant Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, JSS Medical College, Mysuru. Sir spoke about food poisoning, types, causative organisms, types of toxins, botulism. Poisonous foods along with causative organism and their management was explained.
In the Valedictory program Dr. Prasad M C, Assistant Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, JSS Medical College, Mysuru was the Chief guest. Dean Dr. Rajesh Udapudi Presided over the program. Dr. Puneeth Kumar M K Assistant Professor, Department of Agadatantra presented the seminar report. Students’ opinions regarding the seminar were shared by Mr. Sai Prasad and Ms. Sampada Hegde.
