SEMINAR ON RECENT RESEARCH TRENDS
Department of Research and Development of JSS Ayurveda Medical College Mysuru, conducted a seminar on Recent Research Trends on 05/12/2023 Tuesday. The Resource person for the seminar was Dr. B Ravishankar, Former Head, Pharmacology Laboratory, IPGT & RA, Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar who is currently working as a Research adviser at Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research, Bengaluru.
Dr. B. Ravishankar explained about the selection of experimental designs for TSM- based on recent advances which focused on Basic concepts, requirements by stating multiple examples. Sir also quoted examples such as trikatu as a bio availability enhancer and its use in the field of research by the effect of piperine content present in it with increasing blood supply in the GI tract, increasing enzymatic activities like gamma-glutamyl transcriptase which participates in active transport of nutrients across the intestinal cells and by increasing membrane fluidity. Also gave us information about the nonspecific mechanisms inhibiting enzymes involving in bio transformation of drugs, preventing their inactivation and elimination. Sir has motivated the young students for doing research in Ayurveda.
120 UG and PG students participated actively in the program along with the faculty members.
