The Department of Dravyaguna and NSS Unit of the JSS AMC, Mysuru, had jointly organized “Sasya Sambrama” (Plantation Program)-2021, and Guduchi saplings distribution program, in association with the Himalaya Drug Company, Bengaluru. The program was held in the herbal garden of the College to mark the “World Environmental Day.” on June 5, 2021.

The event started with an invocation by Dr. Sandhya and Dr. Sushmitha, PG Scholars of Dravyaguna Department.

The dignitaries & the gathering were welcomed by Dr. Satish Pai, Reader, Dept. of Dravyaguna by offering plants to the guests.

Shri R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, presided over the program. He spoke about the importance of the conservation of plants in order to restorate the Eco-system and its healthy balance. He also informed that the general public, especially the younger generation should pledge to preserve, protect & restore the bio-diversity, as this year’s theme is “Restoration of the Ecosystem”.

The chief guest distributed Guduchi Saplings to the patients of JSS Ayurveda Hospital and staff of the College.

Mr. Harish, Regional Manager, Himalaya Drug Company, Bengaluru, spoke about the event and thanked the Director and Principal for giving him an opportunity to be a part of the event.

The keynote address was made by Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal, JSSAMC, Mysuru. He appreciated the efforts of the staff and gardeners in preserving and nurturing the rare and endangered medicinal plant species.

Dr. Shashibindu, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Agadatantra and NSS Co-ordinator, JSSAMC, Mysuru, gave a vote of thanks.
