The Department of PG Studies in Swasthavritta designed a 16 hours online add-on course for the first-year BAMS students on the topic Yoga and Meditation. The course was started from May 28, 2021. The inaugural program of this online course was virtually held on May 28. Dr.B. R. Ramakrishna, Vice-Chancellor, S-VYASA University, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest.

The program commenced at 4.15 pm with an invocation by Dr. Aparna Surendra, Senior physician, Department of Yoga & Naturopathy, JSS Ayurveda Hospital.

Dr. P. Sudhakar Reddy, Professor & Head, Dept. of PG Studies in Swasthavritta welcomed the guest and participants. Dr. Aparna Surendra introduced the guest to the participants.

The chief guest Dr.B.R. Ramakrishna spoke about the importance of Yoga in the present Pandemic situation and motivated the students to practice it for good health and well being. He also emphasized the role of Ahara, Achara and Vihara in maintaining good health.
Dr. Rajesh A. Udapudi, Dean, addressed the participants and suggested them to inculcate practice of yoga daily and also motivate their parents and siblings also to practice.
Dr. Sarveshwar Kar, Principal delivered the presidential address.
Dr. Deepa C. Patil, Professor, Dept. of Kayachikitsa proposed a vote of thanks.
Dr. Madhusudan, Reader, Dept. of PG studies in Roganidana anchored the ceremony.
90 students participated in the program that was aired live on YouTube and Facebook.
