World Pregnancy Awareness Week-2021 – A report on the workshop conducted for ASHA workers
Pregnancy Awareness Week takes place in the month of February every year. In view of this, the Department of Prasootitantra & Stree Roga, JSS AMCH conducted an Ayurveda awareness programme for ASHA workers on February 24, 2021, with participation of 25 ASHA workers.
Dr. Sarbeshwarkar, Principal, JSSAMCH, in his address stressed on the importance of motherhood and its relevance during pregnancy. He also spoke about the facilities available in the hospital.
Dr. Krishna Prasad, Resident Medical Officer, JSS AMCH explained the importance of having knowledge about Ayurveda antenatal care, to ASHA workers. He explained breifly about the special treatment mentioned in Ayurveda during pregnancy. He also spoke in detail about the complete facilities available at JSS AMCH for antenatal care, labour and postnatal care.
Dr. Usha, HOD, PTSR, and her team conducted a workshop for the ASHA workers. Dr. Usha made a presentation about practical implicability of Ayurveda ANC. She also explained about certain general medications and home remedies for pregnancy related problems and to identify and shift pregnant ladies during obstetrical emergancies.
Earlier, Dr. Vidya Narayan delivered the welcome speech, Dr. Tejaswini K.R. gave a vote of thanks given. Dr. Nanda and Dr. Shruthi took accompanied the participants for a hospital visit, herbal garden and pharmacy visit. The programme ended with a high tea.
