The JSS Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, had organized a programme on November 20, 2018, as part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. Prof. Krishnegowda of the famous TV programme ‘Harate’, was invited as the chief guest. He received a rousing welcome and was taken to the flag hoist in a procession, led by various folk dance teams including Veergaase, Dollu Kunita, Tamate among others, where he hoisted the State flag.
Following this, cultural programmes were held relating to Kannada language and Kannada Rajyotsava, in the college hall.
In his address he expressed his view that a global attack may not be commonly a war or battle, it can be an attack on the culture of the nation, attack on our language, our way of dressing, our traditions, our food culture, etc. If at all India has been still possible to have a stronghold that can be claimed as its own it’s only YOGA and AYURVEDA, he said. He explained the importance of Ayurveda through his language blended with fun, and also stressed on the specialty, diversity, and beauty of Kannada language in his own style. He explained the role of parents in teaching mother tongue to their children in a fun-filled way.
Yielding to the demand of the students he also a few songs and entertained them.
Dr. Rajesh Udapudi, Principal of the College, Senior Professors Dr. Gurubasavaraj, teaching, and non-teaching staff and the students were present.
